King Lekan Unveils His Debut EP “No Time”

From working behind-the-scenes with artists Wizkid, Davido, Mr Eazi, and Olamide. New York-based Nigerian-American artist, King Lekan makes a name for himself with his debut EP titled, “No Time“. Originally born in Nigeria and raised in New York, King Lekan started as a member of hip-hop trio OMG. After years in, he has opened for Pharrell, producing for Lion Babe, and playing for Wale and Akon.

No Time ” introduces listeners with “You Know”, a collaboration featuring soulful vocals by BemiSoul. Followed led by the Moelogo-assisted afro-R&B fusion track titled, ‘Give You All’. The third track titled, ‘Money Calls’ incorporates soothing vocals with mid-tempo based production featuring The.WAV and concludes with ‘Jaiye Oni’ featuring Mojeed. By incorporating Afropop with R&B elements, “No Time” is a well-composed debut with its eccentric blend of sounds.

With that being said, the listening experience on “No Time” is enjoyable with its rich sounds infused with live instrumental arrangements. Regarding the inspiration of “No Time”, King Lekan states:

“For me, “No Time” means that the time is now to show the world what I have to offer as a frontline artist, songwriter, and producer. I want the project to highlight the love and working hard in a positive light, and the songs on the project lend themselves to these two pillars. I want listeners to see that it’s a good thing to fall in love and to work hard to make money the right way.”
