“Interlude” To the New Era of J. Cole

“Interlude” shows why we missed J. Cole

Cole! Jermaine Cole! Cole World need a blanket! Simba!? J. Cole from the Ville!? That’s right, he’s back and to proceed to an upcoming album release titled “The Off Season” with a new single. Being titled “Interlude,” it serves as the perfect preview to years of low-key work and grit from the Fayetteville native.

In his latest single, Cole decorates a deeply laden produced track with emotional and clever bars, per usual, and it’s a beautiful rendition of Cole’s career if it’s a preview of his last work. He credits seeing the highest heights and the lowest lows, but he keeps ongoing. I sure hope he keeps going, and many others do as well.

It’s crazy but heartwarming to see the growth J. Cole has exhibited throughout the years. From “Simba” off his first mixtape ‘The Come Up,” to now. He’s grown and has the world on notice!

Debuting at number one on the global music charts bodes well for his upcoming sixth studio album. To go along with “Interlude” is a behind-the-scenes documentary on YouTube, “Applying Pressure: The Off-Season.” A memorable scene that captured my attention was his conversation with fellow star 21 Savage about navigating music and life in general. With spoiling too much, it’s a must-watch!
