Brian Chinn Warns, He’s ‘Not The Plug’

It’s rare these days that we see artists take their entire career by the reins and create their own destiny. We usually have artists waiting for the perfect beat or producer, waiting to nab the cleanest sound from an engineering standpoint. This isn’t the case for New York City artist (by way of Seattle) Brian Chinn. Between collabs with Dave B, Jay Park, Sango and more, it’s only right and fitting that when the time came for Brian Chinn to release his own solo work, that he would handle the majority of the work. This means playing different instruments, creating the production and of course handling the lyrics.

In his new track ‘Not The Plug’ Chinn is taking a poppy approach, don’t you dare trip though. Chinn’s experience shines all around, sure the beat is minimalistic, but it provides the perfect balance for your ears focusing on all aspects of Chinn’s musical acumen. Even Chinn says ‘Not The Plug’ is meant to be bumped in the whip on your long rides, however again music lovers can dig deeper and find more to discover in the production. This isn’t just some pitch to the radio front, Chinn’s lyrics hold weight and substance and demands your ears.

We don’t know what’s coming next for Brian Chinn as we haven’t gotten news of a project announcement or anything. However, I’d be surprised if we didn’t get a couple of cuts from Chinn to close out the year if not a project. Regardless of what he does and drops for us keep it locked here at Kazi Magazine for details and more news.
