Cloude Atlas, West London Rap Duo Drops Off ‘Forward In Time’ EP

Let’s introduce you to Cloude Atlas. A West London rap duo, and their fifth studio album titled, “Forward In Time.” The four-track EP comes as the first installment in a trio of projects that will be released throughout the year.

FIFTH EP DROP OFF

Cloude Atlas, is kicking off the new year with a brand new EP titled ‘Forward In Time: Toki Fruit Act I’. It is in collaboration with British artist-producer and cosmic spiritual warrior Val-Verr. The new release follows the recent support from Capital Xtra, Kiss Fresh, Roundhouse, and Reprezent Radio, on the heels of their spring 2020 project, Romance Dawn: The Summer In Love.

In 2016, ‘Nuage’, the duo’s groundbreaking debut album, was released to rave reviews. Followed up by their 2017 The Shukan Mixtape and 2018 Grand Line project to boast more expansive themes. Last year’s Romance Dawn: The Summer In Love project hinted at the duo delving deeper into their experimental leanings. Which was later fully revealed on their brand new EP, Forward In Time: Toki Fruit Act I.

THE INSPIRATION

According to the alternative rap duo, Cloude Atlas’ fifth studio album, Forward In Time, is influenced by their urge to go “forward in time” with their musical journey.

We were meant to take a break after our last project to deal with personal things but we both cut it short to make this project, so we feel we’re ahead of time in a way.”

Continuing to speak about the inspiration behind their ‘Forward In Time’ EP, Cloude Atlas says,

This EP is a special one to us as it forced us to realign and reconnect with music. Especially during a time where we’re all in a lockdown due to Covid-19, it gave us both a new escape and somewhere to put our energy. These are songs we have held onto for a few years. That makes it all the more exciting to finally be able to finish and release them. This is also the first time we’ve been in a position to be able to push things on a larger scale independently.”

FOWRARD IN TIME’ EP

The sounds and lyrics of the EP, were influenced by their passion for the Japanese anime and manga art series One Piece. Enabling the listener to loosen their minds from jumbled thoughts.

The brand new EP provides a wide selection of sounds. From the upbeat opening track, “Laugh Tale (Simmer Down),” to the slow-burning melodic rap love song “Amazon Lily (White Sheets)”. The first record is to remind us to live life freely and not take things too seriously. “Whiskey Peak (Icy)” calls for us to break out of still moments in life. Sending its strong message to be brave and stand tall against turmoil. Lastly, their closing track, “Palace” makes for a great wrap up. Which sees the duo speaking of our minds as palaces fit for royalty.
