A few years back, Cardi B sent the internet into a race for viral success with her “Money” challenge, spawning a number of young female rappers to compete for the top spot. Amongst the list was an emerging artist out of Pennsylvania, who 16-years-old at the time, amassed millions of views in a matter of months from her co-sign. “Honesty, she made me realize it’s no competition, we’re all here to support each other,” she states.
Harrisburg, Pennsylvania rapper Kierra Luv raps with the surefire spirit and undeniable intensity of a hard-lived life. She gained massive attraction after posting a number of freestyles to her social media. Amassing over 20 million views, Kierra has built quite the catalog along the way. Furthermore, songs like “Don’t I” and “Put You On” quickly became fan favorites from the 18-year-old artist.
“I was a quiet person, more of just me to myself,” Kierra points out about her childhood. “The neighborhood I grew up in was pretty good so I’d pretty much be outside all the time.” She found interest in music during middle school, however, it wasn’t until Freshman year of high school she turned it into a career. 2018’s “You Lied To Me” quickly laminated her as an artist to look out for in the coming years.
Now, in 2020, Kierra Luv is ready to take the music industry by storm. Without a doubt, her versatile lyricism and energetic one-liners set her apart from the crowd. She offers up a raw, but introspective flow that most allows listeners alike to gravitate to her almost instantly. Additionally, Kierra found herself embarking a new journey with 10K Projects as one of their youngest signees. “I feel like a lot of labels already built their legacy so it’s different when you get to be a part of something new.”
“There’s no one else like me. I bring something to the table that no one has seen, done, or heard before.”
Kierra Luv most recently shared her long-awaited debut mixtape, Take It Or Leave It. The 10-track effort is preceded by “WWD” and “Good Day,” which are standout cuts. Moreover, it boasts features from Tory Lanez, iann dior, and Ray Moon. Not only does the project display her identity, but Kierra’s strong charm and energy make for an unmatchable breakthrough. “I’m ready to pull the trigger and take over everything,” she recites. “Each song does not sound the same, you won’t get bored.”
Inspired by the likes of Lil Wayne and Roddy Ricch, the Pennsylvania-native has proved to be quite the rapper in a matter of no time. When asked what her goals are, Kierra responded with “to build in any way.” Artists like A Boogie, Jhene Aiko, Doja Cat, and Drake serve as her current dream collaborations. “Long-term wise, I’d definitely say getting to a place where I could chill.”
“If you can see the picture in your head, you can hold it your hands,” Kierra on advice to her supporters. “A lot of people have so much doubt, but it’s like when you get ahold of your mind, you can do anything.” Check out her “Don’t I” visual below.
