Armani White steps into a bold new era. From shedding his signature beads to unveiling a deeply vulnerable debut album, There’s a Ghost in My House, the Philly-born disruptor opens up about grief, growth, reinvention, and reclaiming his identity. In this exclusive KAZI Magazine Digital Cover story, Armani talks philosophy, fashion, the ghosts that shaped him, and the creative fire fueling his next chapter.
Armani White has never been afraid to stand out. Known to many as the electrifying force behind the viral smash “Billie Eilish,” the rapper built an identity around bold choices. From his oversized beads to his punchline wit and endless charisma. But beneath the signature look and breakout success was an artist searching for more. Today, Armani describes himself as something unexpected: a philosopher. And in this new era, philosophy is guiding everything — his sound, his style, his perspective, and most importantly, his purpose.
“Everything I do comes from this need to tell a story people don’t usually get to hear. I always felt like my life was relatable, but nobody ever put it into music the way I could. And honestly? I just want to be the greatest” he says.
His ambition is raw and unfiltered. Not ego, but intention. It’s this drive that shaped his debut studio album, There’s a Ghost in My House, a body of work created during one of the most emotionally complex periods of his life. The album marks a dramatic shift from the light-hearted, high-energy “Billie Eilish” era. Instead, it plays like a journal entry. A vulnerable, unguarded look at the moments that broke him, shaped him, and ultimately rebuilt him.
The album is also the follow-up project to his 2023 breakout EP Road to CASABLANCO and was preceded by the singles “TTSO” and “CUT THE LIGHTS”. With flows that are strong, a distinct personality, and a signature sound, Armani’s debut album is a bold, introspective statement that showcases both artistic maturity and emotional vulnerability.

The End Of An Era
For years, Armani’s beads became his silhouette — instantly recognizable, deeply associated with his image, and symbolic of the fun, confident era that catapulted him into global attention. But the beads were never sentimental, he admits. They were practical. Strategic. “I did it to stand out,” he says. “Nobody was wearing beads like that in hip-hop. That was my way of being different”.
But as the music changed, so did he. Now entering what he calls a “cleaner, Korean-inspired phase,” Armani has stepped away from the larger-than-life hair beads and toward a sleeker aesthetic — sculpted baby hairs, structured silhouettes, and a formal, uniform-inspired style. It’s not about abandoning what made him — it’s about elevating it. And while he’s evolving his look, Armani notes that his signature beads will still appear from time to time, honoring his roots and maintaining that visual personality fans love.
“I had to make a new silhouette… What I was doing became something people could copy. Once you see someone else pulling off your look, you know it’s time to evolve”.
With that being said, the transformation isn’t just cosmetic. In fact, it’s a statement that Armani White refuses to be boxed into sameness, even in a genre he feels has grown visually and creatively homogenous. His style is now about intention, identity, and authenticity.

Creating the Album: When Success Feels Like Loss
There’s a Ghost in My House was born during a major life transition — his move into his first home in Los Angeles. What should have been a milestone quickly became a haunting chapter marked by losing friends, relationships, and even family members. The “ghosts” represent the people and memories that lingered in the spaces he lived in, reminders of what success can cost.
“This album was me documenting everything as it was happening,” Armani shares. “It wasn’t me trying to make people dance. It was me trying to survive”.
Tracks like “HOME” and “PHANTM” featuring T-Pain bookend the album with raw honesty. “HOME” arrives as a stark confession from an artist often perceived as endlessly vibrant. “PHANTM.,” closes the project with a vulnerable reminder that behind the fame, he’s still human.
What makes these records powerful isn’t just the wordplay or polished productions, but it’s the absence of it. “I didn’t care if they were ‘structured’ or not,” Armani says. “They were just real. They were literally journal entries”.

From “Billie Eilish” To Unfiltered Vulnerability
If “Billie Eilish” was Armani opening a window to let the light in, There’s a Ghost in My House is him sitting in the shadows, telling the truth about what happened after. The shift was intentional. After experiencing the superficiality of the industry during his breakout success, Armani craved authenticity. From himself and from his audience.
“I didn’t want to be a caricature of myself,” he says. “I didn’t want to just be a TikTok sound or a song or some beads. I wanted people to actually know me”.
The realization hit during a moment of frustration, when someone compared him to a “Jason Derulo type”. That was the wake-up call — the moment he decided to reclaim his identity and re-center his artistry around depth over image.
Now, he’s unafraid to take off the beads when the moment calls for it. Unafraid to bring the “real Philly” back into the room. Unafraid to show the version of himself who watches The Boondocks, geeks out over Pokemon GO, and debates lyrics with friends.
Tour Life: Winning Fans One Show at a Time
On the road with T-Pain and EARTHGANG from October 2nd–26th, Armani approached each performance with a competitor’s fire and a newcomer’s hunger. “I treat every show like I’m a breakout artist,” he says. Each night he pushed himself to outdo the last — experimenting with set lists, elevating the energy, and fighting to convert entire arenas of 7,000 people into real fans.
The goal wasn’t to impress — it was to connect. He recalls performing “Thanksgiving,” one of his most emotional records, and meeting fans afterward who felt seen by the lyrics. For Armani, those moments mean more than any chart position.

The New Era: Remembering Who He Is
If Armani had to define the theme of this chapter, he’d choose one word: remember. Remember who you are. Remember where you came from. Remember the level of consciousness you bring into every room. And in true Armani fashion, he refuses to slow down. The debut album may have just been released, but he’s already finished another one. His definition of success hasn’t changed since he started: “Be the greatest ever”! Not for accolades, not for ego, but to make sure the world never forgets who Armani White truly is.
A Message To The Culture
As we wrap, Armani leaves fans with a message and a challenge. “Reclaim what’s yours”. He recalls being criticized for the beads early on, only to watch the world copy the look years later. It taught him a lesson he now hopes others internalize. Stay true to yourself long enough for the culture to catch up.
